A SCHOLARSHIP IN SWEDEN!
The Swedish government is offering scholarships for participants to attend an international Training program on “Air Pollution Management and Technology” in Sweden scheduled October 15-November 16, 2001. The scholarship includes participation fees, accommodation, food and traveling inside Sweden during the course. The Egyptian authorities are expected to cover International Travels to and from Sweden.
The main objective of the program is to give the participants insights into air pollution management and technology revealing the factors, links and processes governing air pollution. This includes comprehensive and practical knowledge of efficient air pollution assessment, mitigation and control; allowing direct application of understanding upon completion of the course.
Who should be interested?
The course is designed for managers and senior officers within: Environmental protection agencies (local/regional/national), meteorological services, community planning and traffic authorities, consulting firms and industries.
- Women are encouraged to apply.
- The number of participants is limited to 25.
When & Where?
The training program will be organized and conducted in English. Consequently, a good command of English language is required. Candidates whose native language is not English are requested to fill out the English language certificate in the application form or submit, together with the application form, an official language certificate indicating their proficiency in English.
What are the requirements?

Application should be made on the special form from the nearest Swedish Embassy (in Cairo or Abu Dhabi). The Embassy can also be consulted concerning the language test. Each participant, should provide a fax number and e-mail address available on the application form, which can be used by the course administration
The completed application form should be sent via local official channels to the Swedish Embassy. Only participants officially nominated by the appropriate authority and in accordance with local rules will be accepted.
Closing date for application is May 21, 2001. Application cannot be accepted after this date.
How much?
The participation costs are divided into two parts: the first part is covering participation in the program, the other covering accommodations. The participation fee includes all lectures, literature and documentation, local transports within the program as well as general group insurance and certain social activities.
Accommodation includes room and full board.
The participation fee, as well as cost for accommodation and full board will be paid by SIDA for participants from low and lower-middle income countries.
For participants from other countries, the fee is 8,341 US$.
International travel costs as well as personal expenses are not included. Each participant has to arrange for his or her own transport from home country to Norrkoeping, Sweden and bring funds covering personal expenses in Sweden.
Visa
If required, participants should obtain visa for Sweden. Visa should be valid for the whole period of stay in Sweden and permit several entries into Sweden. Inquires should be directed to the respective Swedish Embassy as soon as possible.
Those who want to visit another country on their journey to or from Sweden should arrange the necessary visas before leaving the home country.
