US UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

How Egyptian students can apply

Are you enrolled at an undergraduate program in Egypt? Have you completed two years of undergraduate study majoring in a humanity or a social science? Would you like to complete your Bachelor's degree in the United States? All you need to do is apply for the Partnerships in Learning Undergraduate Studies Scholarship Program (PLUS).

What is the PLUS Scholarship?

A PLUS scholarship puts a U.S. degree within the grasp of the outstanding undergraduate student who previously had little access to such opportunities. Once in the U.S., PLUS students receive intensive English language training and pre-academic preparation before enrolling in an undergraduate studies program leading toward a Bachelor of Arts degree. PLUS scholarships support fields of study that have not traditionally been funded in the past including liberal arts, the humanities, and the social sciences.

Who Are PLUS Students?

The PLUS program is an open, merit-based competition. PLUS students exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and a desire to enhance relations between the United States and their home countries and who traditionally may not have access to American higher education. Seventy students representing eleven countries in the Middle East and North Africa were selected in 2004.
