250,000 foreigners attend German universities

Interested in studying in Germany ? Whether for undergraduate or post graduate studies, Germany is now the 3^rd most popular host country for international students after the USA and the UK. The number of people from abroad interested in studying in Germany has been shooting up ever since the mid-nineties. There are now more than 250,000 foreigners studying at German universities, about 60% more than in 1995. In the meantime, one in ten registered students come from abroad. Almost a fifth of first-year students don’t have a German passport.
