TV broadcast “Good morning Egypt” (Sabah El Kheir Ya Misr) hosted early this month (early September) one of Skill Link members, Mr. Alaa El Ghadban, the Managing Director. The main topic discussed was the importance and accessibility of the Internet in Egypt together with the lack of management new graduates suffers from.

El Ghadban started out his discussion by clarifying the lack of management skills in the Egyptian market due to the sudden growth in the country’s economy. He mentioned that in order to remedy such a problem we should focus on young graduates and try to provide them with as much information as possible. Also developing certain skills such as language proficiency, usage of the Internet and research, are rather important for these young people. And this is where Skill Link role comes together with organizations and institutions. The Internet plays an important role either by providing careers, which the user can go through in his free time, or by trying to find what available opportunities are there.
Moving to the issue of the Internet cafés, El Ghadban declared that although there are different points of views yet we have to establish that each person decides on how to benefit from these cafés. One can invest his time and develop the skills in these places, while the other may just play games. In other words, it is Internet cafes can be perceived as a good opportunity or as a waste of time depending on the person action.
As a conclusion, Al Ghadban ended his discussion by praising under graduates for tackling this new invention but the only draw back was the lack of management they face. One has to admit that their endurance for the new technology was fascinating and should be backed up by the management know how.
