Chairman, Sherif Samy, was interviewed by the
leading Egyptian English language magazine "Business
Today" on employment trends for professionals and
university graduates. The article, that appeared in
the September 2005 issue, discussed unemployment,
what recruiters are looking for and the challenges
in finding the right individuals to hire.

With regards to summer
internships, and how they prepare young men and
women for a career, Sherif Samy said: "Internships,
are very important, but very few entities allow them
because they are not built to accommodate this sort
of initiative. They would look at it as an
inconvenience, and they wouldn’t know what to do
with the interns". Talking about the boom in the
capital market and its impact on jobs, Sherif stated
“Suddenly we have demand: They want analysts, they
want corporate finance executives, researchers and
fund managers, and it’s at a rate that no one is
able to supply because for three to four years they
were out of it. Those who left the sector probably
moved out of Egypt or to the next thing, which is
mainstream banking. Jobs in analysis, asset
management and corporate finance are the ‘in’ jobs
at the moment because they are analysis-based and
require both more academic work and a more
specialized background. "
