The first 2005
meeting of the Management Forum, organized by the
Fulbright Commission, was recently hosted at the US
Ambassador's residence in Garden City. Sherif Samy,
skill-link.com's Chairman was the guest speaker of
the event, attended by Egyptian MBA graduates of US
and UK universities in addition to a number of
senior executives and CEOs.

Sherif Samy's presentation "Job & Employment Trends
in Egypt 2005 – 2010" addressed the current
employment and salary trends and how fragmented the
Egyptian job market is. He also demonstrated how
difficult it is to derive salary averages for any
function or industry due
to having significant
disparities between various company types (public
sector, small private sector, large private sector
and joint ventures, multinationals etc…). He then
outlined some of the hottest jobs and industry in
the Egyptian job market today and where the
prospects lie. In the final part of Sherif Samy's
presentation, the great opportunities to create tens
of thousands of jobs through hosting jobs migrating
from industrialized countries through offshore
services outsourcing were demonstrated. The event
was concluded by a dinner hosted by H.E. US
Ambassador David Welch.
