Skill Link WELCOMED THE NEW AUCians

Its Indian decoration featuring Hisham Abbass’ new song “habibi dah” is what gave the American University in Cairo (AUC) students welcome party a special flavor and differentiated it from previous years. Skill Link is proud to have sponsored the party on Friday September 22^nd with more than 2500 students attending.

Doors closed at 8:30. As soon as we walked in the Greek Campus, we went through a student made Indian tunnel, full of beautiful decorations and small crafted elephants. This started the evening with an Indian atmosphere flowing all around. The party started out with the new age music and people started to gather more and more by the hour despite of the heavy air that night. Everyone started dancing and feeling overwhelmed by the organization of the place. You could see the people dancing on the lower platform and enjoying their time, while the upper platform was busy with eager students asking questions to the different sponsors. Some of the guests were also gathered around a rotating cube featuring all the sponsors of the party located in the middle of the platform. Another way to highlight the presence of the sponsors was a big screen located on the right of the stage. Each sponsor showed three different visual documents.

With a big bang and high cheers, Hisham Abbass made his way to the stage at around 10:30. Starting out with a small speech welcoming the new students, Abbass succeeded in attracting all the crowd and make them move more and more towards the stage leaving the other part of the platform empty. Students enjoyed the Arabic music; many girls started belly dancing and their joy continued till midnight.
In the following lines, Mr. Alaa El Ghadban, managing director of Skill Link, expresses his opinion and feeling about the party.

“Friday the 22^nd of September witnessed a very nice party at the American University in Cairo. For me, I was heading there reluctantly leaving my wife and the kids on a Friday to attend a business related function. On the way in, it was so crowded at the entrance and I started having second thoughts. Walking down by the Library gate, the very loud music started hitting my inner guts. After going through my regular check-up on the company’s banners and the overall set-ups of the function, I started sipping on my juice and enjoying the music, while watching the very interesting crowd enjoying themselves. Half an hour later, I found myself so happy with the whole event that I decided to share my feelings with you over the net. A very nice breeze started chasing the heavy hot air, which had been there for a while; the music became better and better. While putting those few thoughts on paper, my team of Skill Link called on me with excitement to watch our company’s rotating banner on the big screen next to the stage.
