Q1: What should my salary be as Marketing Communication Manager? I am an American University in Cairo (AUC) 1989 graduate with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. I started my career in the marketing function of a multinational consumer goods company, later I moved to an Information Technology company. I am now considering two job offers, one as a Marketing Communication Manager in a well known Egyptian IT group (reporting to the Marketing Director) and the other in a medium size IT company (reporting to the CEO). Could you please inform me about the salary range I should expect ? M. M. (Cairo) Replying: Dear Ms. M. As per our policy we have withheld the names of the companies you are considering joining.. Marketing Communication as we understand it, is mainly responsible for events (exhibitions, fairs etc..), brand development, identity standards (logos, etc..), sponsorships, brochures, newsletters, advertising and most instances on the content of the corporate web site. The salary range for such a position in the companies you mentioned would be between LE 12,000 and LE 15,000 per month. This of course assumes you are experienced, qualified and a hard worker with some creativity. We hope the above was of some use to you. Q2: Could you tell me what Corporate Banking should do? The bank I work in is planning to introduce a new Division responsible for corporate banking. Previously we only had branches serving companies and a head office Credit Control Department. A. T. (Egypt) Replying: Dear Mr. T. Additionally should initiate / approve systems' changes affecting their area or customers. - Identify skill development needs for Bank staff directly involved with Corporate Banking services at both Head Office and the branches. - Maintain vertical and horizontal communication lines (information memorandums, meetings, workshops...) between various members of the Corporate Banking community within the bank. We hope the above was of some use to you. Note from the editor:
